Who We Are
Butterfly Cleaning is a small, owner-operated cleaning business based in Massachusetts. This policy explains what we collect when you use butterflycleaningreal.com or book a cleaning, and what we do with it.
Information You Give Us
When you request a quote or book, we collect your name, email, phone number and service address, plus details about the job: the service, your home's size, bedrooms and bathrooms, pets, how we'll get in (for example "lockbox" or "someone will be home"), your preferred date, and any notes you add. Please don't type door or lockbox codes into the form. We'll ask for them by email after your booking is confirmed.
Information Collected Automatically
To block spam, our server briefly looks at your IP address to limit how many requests can come from one place. We don't store it with your booking. If our bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) is turned on, Cloudflare checks that a real person is using the form. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as page requests and errors, for a short time.
Cookies and Browser Storage
We don't use advertising cookies, analytics or any tracking. Your browser saves your unfinished booking form on your own device for up to 3 days so you can pick up where you left off, and remembers whether you turned booking sounds on. That data never leaves your device unless you submit the form. Submitting a booking or clearing your browser data removes it.
How We Use Your Information
Only to review and schedule your booking, send you booking emails, do the cleaning, take payment, handle questions, complaints or damage claims, and keep the records the law requires. We don't send marketing emails, and we never sell your information or share it for advertising.
Who We Share It With
Only the service providers that run the website and our booking system: Vercel (website hosting), Neon (our booking database), Resend (sends our booking emails), Cloudflare (bot check, when turned on) and, if we use one, a private team messaging tool for booking alerts. Payment goes directly from you to us through Venmo under Venmo's own privacy policy. The cleaner assigned to your job sees what they need to do it. We may share information if the law requires it.
Payment Information
Payments are sent directly through Venmo to Butterfly Cleaning's Venmo account. We don't collect, process, or store card or bank details on our own systems. Venmo handles that entirely.
How Long We Keep It
We keep booking records for up to 3 years after your last cleaning, or longer only when we need them for taxes, a dispute, or because the law requires it. We delete door and lockbox codes once you stop booking with us, or sooner if you ask.
Your Choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us. We'll reply within 30 days. If we must keep something (for example, a tax record), we'll tell you why.
How We Protect It
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only the people who run Butterfly Cleaning can see your booking details: our two owners, who do the cleaning, and the family member who manages our bookings. Entry details are only used on the day of the job.
Children
Our site and services are for adults. You must be 18 or older to book, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For a big change, we'll tell customers with upcoming bookings by email.
